Epic and sublime construction in this month’s FX magazine
Sometimes, there are interesting shots to be taken under our noses. Or in this case, by poking your proboscis through a slightly damaged site hoarding at the base of London’s Centre Point. It shows construction of the new Crossrail station box at Tottenham Court Road. The image is published as part of my ongoing ‘Eyewitness’ series in FX magazine.
I love the way that new vistas open up in London when buildings get demolished, creating new squares with vast holes at their heart. There’s another great one on Cannon Street in the City at the moment – the site of Norman Foster’s new HQ for Bloomberg – offering unprecedented views of Number 1 Poultry, should you want such a thing.
