View from the top
With a few minutes to spare between meetings, I decided to give my legs a workout and climb the Monument in the City of London on a cold wintry afternoon. The view from the summit – some 55m above ground – was truly breathtaking. It’s a great spot to appreciate the epic southward view towards the Shard.
If you are feeling fit, and fancy walking up 311 narrow steps, then I highly recommend it. It’s not so good if you are scared of heights – when I was at the top, a poor frightened woman wouldn’t venture near the parapet rail and was truly terrified. However, I did learn from her that the Cheesegrater (aka 122 Leadenhall Street) isn’t actually a real cheese grater. Thanks for that.
Technical note: Image taken with Sony NEX-7 with a Voigtlander 12mm SL Nikon fit mounted in a shift adapter. Clever eh?

Oh how disappointing. I was looking forward to bringing my cheese into town to grate it on a large skyscraper. *sulks*
