Le Gun depicts Shoreditch life on three giant billboard installations
I recently ventured East (always feels like quite an adventure when living in the unfashionable West!) to the private view for three new illustrations by Le Gun. While the original artworks were pretty impressive in their size and detail, their impact is maximised when reproduced on enormous billboards in key locations around the district.
So prior to the party, I ventured out in freezing rain to check out the billboard installations. The biggest – on the corner of Commercial Street and Shoreditch High Street and measuring 18m by 9m – was still being fixed into place by daredevil abseilers.
Local illustrators Le Gun were commissioned to create the images, depicting the area’s key locations, people and trends, by creative agency HamiltonPyne for local commercial property landlord The Estate Office Shoreditch.
